so as we are our homes, what better then to read a BUNCH of books?
So today, we are reviewing ONE OF THE MOST TALKED ABOUT BOOK ON TIKTOK!!!
I am talking about WE WERE LIARS by E. LOCKHART
This is quite a short read. With barely crossing the 200 page mark, this book is a PERFECT short, fast paced book to read this summer. Will surely help you get out of a reading slumber (just like it helped me!)
Now let’s get to the plot
It is a suspense thriller. Surprising how a author can pack mysterious thriller activities in a book of only about 200 pages.
But dont let the pages fool you. Because the whole ride of reading this book is thrilling!!!!!
It revolves around the OH SO RICH Sinclair family that consists of beautiful blonde moms, with their oh so good looking children. We also have these children’s grandpa and grandma.
Dont ask about fathers. That sector is complicated.
Anyways, the main protagonist, from whose POV we get to read the whole story is Cadence Sinclair.
She goes through, well, a TRAGIC incident (read the book to find it out duh) and that incident did a 180° to her whole life and family and friends/siblings (also known as the liars)
We have also have the entry of ANOTHER character, an interesting one. I don’t want to spoil it for you so I wont. I was thinking that this character would have a BIGGER hand in changing Cadence’s life completely, but that didn’t happen. He wasn’t a very significant reason.
But that aside, this book MIGHT or MIGHT NOT feel a bit underwhelming in the starting. ACTUALLY CUT THAT OFF. It IS quite gripping in the beginning, with some information about her quite disturbed family. But somewhere in the middle, the story starts to lose a few its fun points. But then after that TRAGIC accident that happened with Ms Sinclair, things start to get VERY interesting.

I give it a 4/5. The length was perfect, and as mentioned earlier, perfect for anyone who wants to grab a quick book or get out of a reading break.
The writing was CHEF’S KISS.
It was engaging till the very end
AND SPOILER ON THAT NOTE
*book ends on a SAD note 🙁
BUT THAT DOESNT STOP IT FROM BEING ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I HAVE READ THIS YEAR
AND I truly get where the hype comes from and WHY it comes. ANYWAYS I DO RECOMMEND this book to everyone. If you like some suspense, with some UNDENIABLY PERFECTLY PLOTTED FAMILY DRAMA
